REQUIREMENTS:
Have a Google Account, otherwise create a new one.
STEPS:
-
Open the Google Search Console page (click here) and click on 'Start now'.
-
This will open a new page where you have the option to choose between two types of properties.
-
Continue with the first property. Then enter the domain of our website (example: namedomain.net) and press on 'continue'.
-
A pop-up will open asking you to verify domain ownership via the DNS record of the entered domain.
-
Select 'CNAME' as the record type.
-
Access the cPanel of our domain and enter 'DNS' in the search bar, then choose 'Zone Editor'.
-
Click on 'Management' (with the wrench symbol next to it).
-
Then click on '+ Add Record'. Then copy the fields indicated in the pop-up to the new record as follows. (The fields are different for each website, those in the image are just an example for the explanation.)
Then save by pressing 'Save Record'.
-
Once these steps have been carried out, go back to the 'Google Search Console' page and click on verify. The verification check will begin. If the procedure has been carried out correctly, the following message will appear.
Then click on 'Finish'.
Finally, in order to consult the data relating to your website, select the domain (just entered) from the 'Search properties' drop-down menu.
