Guide to Creating an Email Forward with cPanel Hosting by Utixo
Introduction
This guide will show you how to create an email forward using the cPanel control panel provided by Utixo. An email forward allows you to automatically redirect messages received by one email address to another.
Accessing cPanel
- Log in to your Utixo account via the portal Utixo.
- Navigate to the "Hosting" section and select the desired service.
- Click on "Access cPanel" to open the control panel.
Creating an Email Forward
- In the main cPanel dashboard, go to the Email section and click on Forwarders.
- Click on Add Forwarder.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Address to Forward: Enter the email address you want to forward messages from.
- Destination: Select the Forward to Email Address option and enter the destination email address.
- Click on Add Forwarder to save the settings.
MX Records Configuration
To ensure proper functioning of email forwarding, the MX (Mail Exchanger) records of the domain must be correctly configured in the DNS. Follow these steps:
- Access the DNS management panel of your domain.
- Ensure that the MX records point to the IP address of the hosting server being used. Typically, these records point to mail.yourdomain.com, where "yourdomain.com" is the name of your domain.
- If needed, add or modify the MX records to match this configuration.
- Save the changes and wait for propagation, which can take up to 24 hours.
If you are unsure how to configure MX records, contact Utixo support for assistance.
Testing the Forward
After setting up the forward, it is recommended to test it by sending an email to the original address to verify that it is correctly redirected to the destination address.
Troubleshooting
- If the forward does not work, verify that the destination email address is correct.
- Ensure that the original email address exists and is correctly configured.
- Contact Utixo support for additional help.
