Allow Users to Disable Apache SpamAssassin in cPanel

In some situations, cPanel users may need to disable the spam filter, for example, when using an external filtering system. By default, the system can force Apache SpamAssassin to be ON for all accounts, but it's possible to change this behavior to give users control.

How to Allow Users to Disable SpamAssassin

Follow this path inside WHM:

  • Home > Service Configuration > Exim Configuration Manager

Within the configuration panel, select the Apache SpamAssassin™ Options tab.

The first option will be:

Apache SpamAssassin™: Forced Global ON

Change the Setting

To allow users to disable the spam filter at the account level:

  • Set the Forced Global ON option to OFF.

This will allow each user to decide whether to keep SpamAssassin enabled or disable it completely.
