Changing the default_charset Parameter in php.ini from cPanel

To manage PHP's default character encoding, you can modify the php.ini configuration file directly from the control panel.

Steps

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Go to the php.ini or PHP INI Editor section (depending on your cPanel version).
  3. Add or modify the following directive:
default_charset = ""

Note

Setting default_charset to an empty value disables the automatic assignment of a default character encoding. Be sure to correctly manage HTTP headers (Content-Type) to avoid character display issues.
