Activating a PEC mailbox on an external custom domain

You can activate a PEC mailbox on a custom domain even if the domain is registered with a different provider, as long as you have access to the domain's DNS management panel.

To properly configure your PEC on an external domain, follow these steps:

  • Purchase the PEC domain certification service from Utixo.
  • Purchase the PEC mailbox (or mailboxes) to activate.
  • Log in to the DNS panel of your domain provider and insert the DNS records provided by Utixo (usually TXT or MX records).
  • Wait approximately 24–48 hours for DNS propagation, certification, and mailbox activation.

Example of a configured order

Below is a visual example of how an order for a PEC on a custom domain appears within the Utixo panel:

Important notice

If the domain is already certified for PEC by another provider, you will first need to revoke the existing certification. Only then can Utixo proceed with the new certification process.

This may result in delays in activation, so we recommend planning your PEC domain migration in advance.
