Enable Full OWA Version in Internet Explorer 11

When accessing Outlook Web App (OWA) using Internet Explorer 11, the browser may load the Light version of the interface, which offers limited functionality. For instance, users cannot attach files or use rich formatting options.

To access the full version of OWA, you need to enable Compatibility View for the OWA site domain.

Steps to Enable Compatibility View

  1. Open Internet Explorer 11 and click on Tools (gear icon in the top right corner).
  2. Select "Compatibility View Settings".
  3. The main domain hosting the OWA site (e.g., mail.domain.com) will appear automatically in the dialog box.
  4. Click "Add" to include it in the list.
  5. Click "Close". The login page will refresh automatically.

After completing these steps, the checkbox "Use the light version of Outlook Web App" will become unselected and users will be able to access the full-featured OWA interface.

Note

Compatibility View is required in Internet Explorer 11 to use the full OWA experience. This version allows you to attach files and use all features available in the complete interface.
