On May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force across the European Union, introducing enhanced rights for individuals and new obligations for businesses. Key principles include the right to be forgotten, data portability, processing transparency, and timely breach notification.
One of the GDPR’s most important aspects is the protection and backup of personal data. Companies handling sensitive information — such as Service Providers — must implement compliant solutions. Below is an overview of the VPS backup system provided by Utixo.
Key Features of Utixo VPS Backup
Full backup
The system performs a complete backup of the VPS directly from the hypervisor, eliminating the need for software agents. This ensures higher efficiency and enhanced security.
Advanced data encryption
Utixo uses 256-bit AES end-to-end encryption, securing data at the source, during transfer, and at its final destination. This setup is fully compliant with GDPR Articles 32 and 44.
Secure and certified storage
Backups are stored on dedicated infrastructure within an ISO/IEC 27001-certified production datacenter. On request, remote backups or disaster recovery (DR) options can be configured via high-speed, secure connections.
Flexible scheduling and continuous monitoring
By default, backups are retained for the last 5 days and run between 7:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Custom schedules can be arranged according to specific client needs. All backups are continuously monitored and verified.
Custom requests available
You can request tailored configurations such as specific time windows, remote datacenter allocation, and additional security measures. For more details, contact Utixo support.
📌 Important Note
A proper setup of your backup and encryption system is essential to GDPR compliance and helps minimize the risk of data loss or breach.
