To ensure that folders created via IMAP are also visible in your email client, you need to subscribe to them manually.
Creating a Folder
You can create a new folder by right-clicking on the "Account/Folder" option and then selecting "Create Folder" from the context menu.
Note: punctuation or special characters cannot be used when creating the folder. However, hyphens (-) and underscores (_) are allowed.
Outlook Express
After configuring an IMAP account:
- Click on "Tools" → "IMAP Folders" → "Reset"
- Wait for the complete list of folders to be displayed
- Select the desired folders and click "Add"
Outlook XP / 2003
After configuring an IMAP account:
- Click on "Tools" → "IMAP Folders" → "View Data"
- Wait for the folders to be displayed
- Select the desired folders
Outlook 2000
After configuring an IMAP account:
- Click on "Tools" → "IMAP Folders" → "View Data"
- Wait for the folders to be displayed
- Select the desired folders
Thunderbird
After configuring an IMAP account:
- Go to "File" → "Sort"
- Select the desired account from the account window
- Click "Update" and subscribe to the desired folder
