Import a PST File in Outlook 2007 Print

If you're using Outlook 2007, you can easily import emails, contacts, and other data from a Personal Folders file (.pst) by following a simple built-in wizard.

 

Steps to Import

1. At the top of the Outlook 2007 ribbon, click File.

2. Select Import and Export to launch the wizard.

3. In the wizard, choose Import from another program or file and click Next.

4. Select Personal Folder File (.pst) and click Next.

5. Click Browse to locate the .pst file you want to import.

Note: Under Options, it's recommended to select Do not import duplicates to avoid duplicating existing items.

6. Click Next.

7. If the PST file is password-protected, you'll be prompted to enter it. Type the password and click OK.

8. Set the import options:

  • The main folder is selected automatically (usually Personal Folders or the email account name).
  • Include subfolders is enabled by default, ensuring all subfolders are included.

9. Choose where to import the data:

  • Import items into the current folder: Data will be placed in the currently selected folder.
  • Import into the same folder in: Data will be imported into folders with matching names. If a folder doesn't exist, Outlook will create it.

10. Click Finish to complete the import process.
