Domain Owner Data Confirmation (ICANN Validation)
For domains with the following extensions: .com, .info, .biz, .net, .org, .co.uk, .org.uk and all new gTLDs, it is mandatory to confirm the domain owner's (registrant's) information in case of:
- New domain registration
- Domain transfer
- Registrant data modification
Why confirmation is required
This validation is required by ICANN, the global authority regulating domain names. If the confirmation is not completed within the specified time, the domain is temporarily suspended: it remains registered but all related services (DNS, email, website) will be deactivated and cannot be modified.
Validation timeline
- The confirmation must be completed within 15 days of receiving the validation email.
- Reminder emails are sent automatically after 5, 10, and 13 days.
- If no confirmation is made within 15 days, the domain will be automatically suspended.
How the verification works
The registrant receives a validation email containing a confirmation link. Simply clicking on this link confirms domain ownership.
The email may be in Italian or English, depending on the domain extension.
Important
If you haven’t received the confirmation email and your domain appears suspended, open a support ticket. Our team will promptly send you a new validation email to restore the domain’s functionality.
